Comments : That Friday feeling
It still amazes me that people are so negative. I've read sever blogs recently where the poor blog owner has been upset by nasty comments and I just don't understand why people do it! I for one love MagKnits and think that there's always something for everyone. You do a fantastic job with it and HipKnits which I also love. If I was you I'd take great joy in deleting all of the negative comments - life's too short to be bothered trying to please moaning minnies!!!
Great news about the shop Kerrie - I'm sure it will be a great success. Best wishes for the future xxx

Kerrie, just a quick note to say that I love MagKnits! I've been a fan since the first issue, and I've really enjoyed watching the publication grow. You've come a long way, and you should be very proud of yourself! It's true that you can't please everyone... so remember that for all of the bad comments you receive, there are tons of us behind you who eagerly anticipate each new edition and appreciate what you do.
reluctantMANGO (of the teal and brown custom sock yarn... can't wait to get my hands on it!!!)

For every nasty comment you receive about MagKnits (from people without lives, apparently), remember that there are bunches and bunches of us out here who love it but never think to tell you so.
So I'm telling you I love it! And I am terribly appreciative of all the work and thought that goes into such a terrific -- and free!! -- product.
(BTW, my 13-year-old son just told me yesterday that he doesn't like school because people only criticize, never praise. He was thunderstruck when I told him that his teachers think he's a highly intelligent and hard-working kid. Maybe all of us need to remember to give out praise openly whenever and wherever it's due.)

Just found the index to the archive on MagKnits. Yay! Thank you! It's just what you need for that "now where did I see that great pattern?" moment. You're doing a great job and loads of us really appreciate it.

I find it extraordinary that people would email to complain about free patterns. Who are these people? Sheesh! I think Magknits is great and I'm sorry I've never told you that before. I don't want to knit everything, but who could? Odessa is gorgeous and so is the Vine Wrap thingy - I definitely want to knit that in Blue Sky Alpaca - mmmm! And weren't you the first to publish Jaywalker socks? Seems like every blog I read the author is planning/starting/knitting/showing off a pair!
Please keep on doing the great job you're doing - it is appreciated. Hope to visit the shop soon too.

Sorry to hear about moaners and whiners and bloody whingers, do take no notice please. You have loads of people behind you, I for one look forward every month to MagKnits coming out. You can't expect to please everybody all the time, in fact that would be an unreasonable demand of anybody. Complaining for something FREE... it's beyond me... Silly bug*ers, just ignore them!
Weekend: out to town yesterday, went for a lovely long walk (so much that my legs ache today!), thai restaurant in the evening with my sweetie; lay-in today, saw a friend this afternoon (I blabbed for 4 hours!!), cozy evening in tonight - all in all, big thumbs up!
Hope you had a good one too xxx

Hi Kerrie
Just wanted to say MagKnits is great. I really love it. And I am constantly amazed that you have so much time and energy to do that, manage HipKnits, run a shop (soon), have a full time job and be a wonderful mum & wife! Great job.

I had no idea that people were out there bellyaching about FREE PATTERNS. Take 'em or leave 'em, catering to all tastes, and did I mention that they are FREE? Not nice!
And you do this MONTHLY!
Many more people are thinking admiring thoughts! xoxo Kay

It wasn't self obsessed, I know where you are coming from completely and we all have days where you wonder why, but there are a lot of people out there who love what you do including me, so hopefully you are having a wonderful weekend x

Kerrie, I totally support you and magknits. In fact, I'm going to click, click, click on your ads right now.
You've come so far since your first issue of Magknits and look at it now, I could only wish for something so fabulous. I totally admire your work and I love the way you blog about it too. Keeps you so real, in fact, I feel like I feel like I know you personally!
As for my weekend, I'm going frog and re-knit up a cabled vest top I'm designing for my son and re-skein some sock yarn I dyed this week. Fun, fun, fun!!
Sorry for babbling on a bit. Have a good weekend.

Hmm planning for the weekend ... oh yes I remember palnning :) That was what I used to do before I had kids VBG I 'will' be starting some socks for the red hot sizzling socks KAL, finishing a sleeve on a Colinette cardi that's been hanging around since last summer waiting for me to finish it for the winter (could be next winter at this rate) Looking at my Noro Blossom, bought on impulse on eBay, and wondering what on earth to make with it, and trying to decide if i should do the free scarf pattern with the Debbie Bliss Astrkhan when i don't really like the parren or need another scarf but don't have enough money to buy enough yarn to make a bigger project. And if I actually get any of that done it will be a miracle! Ah motherhood. What I will really be doing is watching Thomas the tank engine, building layouts, making meals, washing clothes, decorating DD's bedroom, etc, etc, etc. and maybe a little knitting if I'm lucky

De-lurking to say I love Magknits! Keep up the excellent work, and lots and lots of luck with your shop! How fantastic!
I'm also suffering a head cold, but I'm off to San Francisco for 10 days on Monday with The Boyfriend! So excited!

Miserable buggers the lot of them - some people just like to complain! I think magknits is great! Oh and never mind enjoying yourself at Pizza Hut, just get dying my cashmere!!!!

Best wishes for your new shop and have a peaceful, relaxing weekend, Kerrie.

My plans for the weekend include trying not to drown in my own snot.
You know a headcold is bad when you can't even knit because you keep messing things up.
Urgh.
This is so very not fun.

Very, very jealous of you going to Handweaver's Studio at the weekend. Why on earth didn't I take advantage of that place when I lived in London? (er, because I didn't know about it!)
I'm planning a weekend of lace knitting and finishing off my dad's Christmas present socks. Yes, I know. I am a baaaaaaad daughter. Enjoy the weekend. x

Exciting!!! I hope the shop turns out to be everything you dream it will be.
I also understand the unnatural attraction of antique shops, thankfully I'm in the States where the antiques aren't quite as interesting as they are over there! :)

Yay Friday! Of course, I haven't left for work yet, so I shouldn't get too excited. I'm planning on winding my new Hip Knits silk and seeing what I'm going to do with it and maybe eating something yummy. Good luck with the shop!

Sounds like a good weekend coming up! Too bad about the horrid emails - what is it that we say to our children? If you haven't got anything nice to say, don't say anything....
I've picked out some yarn already for the Odessa pattern. Hang in there, Kerrie, you're doing a great job!

I just wanted to put in my pennorth about Magknits and your blog. I keep coming back here and I trawl through the Magknits archives repeatedly every time I get the knitting urge, not just for a pattern but for inspiration too. I bought the March issue of Simply Knitting yesterday and while I enjoyed reading it, there's probably only two things that even tempted me in the whole magazine. That doesn't mean it's no good, and the same goes for Magknits.
So, ignore the nasty comments, take on board anything contructive and keep up the good work.
PS Hope your son's ok.

I'm planning on finishing knitting Odessa which I picked up the yarn for on Wednesday. How's that for being quick of the mark?! I was going to garden but it looks like it'll be too cold for that so it's time for the fire to be on, some good films and a big pile of knitting. Enjoy the Handweaver's Studio - I so want to visit there and Loop the next time I'm in London.
