I'm with you on Rowan. I took out my first membership with them just before no 38 came out - bad timing no?
There are a couple of patterns in 39 I might knit but it is so difficult to see the wood (items) for the trees (styling).
The alpaca silk wrap is growing - I'm halfway there with the pattern memorised and most of the pattern written :-)

hmm. maybe some sort of circular needle and a blankie? I dont know! Also out of curiosity, This yarn is from south america, right? Because I speak spanish and in spanish Malabrigo translates to Bad Coat, which I can only see referring to a sheeps coat, which altogether confuses me! Do you have any idea what else it could be? P.s. you are the only person who's blog I totally enjoy and read as often as I can. :) And I sold my 39 on ebay and am a bit dissapointed the price has even gone up for next year!

Hang on a cotton pickin' minute. I can clearly see on MY monitor that the bag of Malabrigo top left, on top of the orangey coloured bag has a large sign on it saying "Specially reserved for Carolyn- the one with all the goats" ;)

Cam's left foot?
And I'm with you on the Rowan thing. The last two issues have been schlock. And Vogue Knitting has fizzled too. And if IK puts another tie pattern in I might go postal on the person delivering my subscription.
Hope the dinner was delish!

I'm guessing Cameron's left foot *hehe*

Kid Acne's stuff = pretentious crap !
Some of 39 is o.k. if you can see past the dodgy styling. Don't think the mag is worth the money though.
I'm looking forward to trying some of the Malabrigo.
The needle cases are fab. Any chance of some for circular needles ?
I was going to guess it was Cam's foot. He's growing up so fast. Will you be at Woolfest this year ?

I think Rowan going off a bit chasing the fashion crowd. This was a particular problem with 39 - loads of BoHo too late, and the naval bit maybe slightly early (apparently sailor suits are going to be huge this summer *shivers*).
by the way, at my knitting group on sunday:
someone: "americans are weird, is magknits british?"
me: "well Kerrie's based in the UK, like Hipknits, oh and did you hear she's expanding to a shop space?"
everyone: "hipknits, shop, where, when, how, I want it now!"

I'm with you on the Rowan Mag. I do like quite a few patterns in the first section but the Tribal stuff is really bogging. It doesn't help that I hate Kaffe Fassett-style designs anyway (strike me down for saying something so blasphemous - can I say that I'm not into the whole Alice Starmore thing either). I actually prefer the RYC pattern books instead. I obvioulsy prefer the classier designs as I get older - can't say I'm getting any classier to match!

Angelica looks very pretty - keep knitting! I agree with Amanda - the picture does look like a little foot. All 29 the same? Bless him...

My best guess for the 29 identical pictures are that Cam stood on his bed and took lots of fun pictures of his bed and foot...
Hope you have a wonderful day and enjoy the food! It always taste better when cooked by dear hubby :)
