Feedback
It seems that the online communities are divided by the most recent issue of MagKnits. I think that's OK. Some of the comments out there are harsh and as always I find myself hoping that the designers don't read them. I've learned to be pretty thick skinned by now but inevitably I get emails from designers who are hurt by other people's comments, it happens more than you think and I don't suppose it will go away.
It is hard to be creative and to offer a little piece of your soul out there to the internet to rip apart as they will. Every designer who comes to a magazine whether it is online or print should be mentally preparing themselves for some kind of negative comments. The lovely emails, comments and mentions on forums make it all worth while for me though.
This is the kind of thought process I was hoping for when I decided to run an issue dedicated to single skeins of handspun. Personally I really like a lot of the designs in this issue and if I ever get time to pick up my needles and knit for me then a snowbaby hat is definitely on the cards.

In the July issue, the 'Delft' pattern is still "not found"...is it ever going to be fixed?

I like this issue. The hot water bottle is a definite knit. I always like looking at the online mags to get inspiration. Even if I never knit a stitch or don't love a pattern, I love to see what others designed.

I truly applaud those who share their designs. Even if they aren't something I would usually pick for myself (rarely happens), I learn and grow from sharing to other's talents and tastes. Sometimes I am even encouraged to get out of my comfort zone and try some new! You all are very much appreciated and admired.
Thank you.

the reaction of the knitting community really shocked the hell out of me, before i even realized the entire issue was your handspun issue.
it really saddened me that people are generally rude when they don't like something.
it would be a shame if designers were scared to submit to mags because of harsh words and flames.
i feel for every single one.
~that said, i would have loved it even more if you would have featured a range of weights. but, hey, there is always a next time.
thanks for all your hard work in putting magknits together.

I love the chunkyfunky cable bag and the flower corsages. I have a big collection of Contessa and other thick thin yarn and love to see different uses for the yarn which I adore. Thanks for keeping up the good work and remember bad publicity is better than none ;) :D

My only complaint about this issue is that when I go to magknits.com, it still shows the July edition. I didn't even know this was up until I saw the livejournal post. :-(

I can't believe what people will say about others work. What's wrong with just saying some designs aren't your cup of tea? This isn't my favourite issue either (mostly because I like knitting with fingering weight yarn), but I admire people who can design and are so willing to share their patterns with us. I love the baby socks though and will probably convert the pattern to 7st/in gauge.
Just want to let you know I appreciate all the hard work that goes into putting together a monthly magazine like this.
