Big day

My big news for the day - Brooke started primary school! After 7 months at home full time with me she put on her uniform and walked into school like she had been doing it every day. Wayne and I were more excited / nervous than she seemed. It was like she had done it all before. Bless her. I can't wait to pick her up this afternoon and find out all about it.

Family - don't worry. Photos were taken and are being printed out now on the fabby photo printer that Jenna got us for Christmas. Rest of the internet - sorry. Her school uniform has her school name all over it so you won't get to see the cute pictures. Trust me, she looks gorgeous!

Oh, and the other big news? MagKnits is all up. Bear with me please, I was double checking links etc with Mr C squirming on my lap and refusing to sleep this morning. My favourite pattern? Has to be biastripe for the fascinating construction, Kate did a great job with it. Apart from that I want to make all of them. Oh, if only I had the stash and the time!

News

Just a couple of quick bits for you...

1. MagKnits is going to be up first thing Monday morning (UK time) I'm just uploading the final few images today. Apologies for any emails that I owe people, this is keeping me busy!

2. Also keeping me busy is finishing off all the samples for the stuff I've been designing for some craft fairs this year. Not just knitted stuff, I've been working on some fabric stuff and also a few other bits. So far I've signed up for 2 BIG fairs this year, Stitch 2005 at Olympia at the end of March and the Knitting and Stitching show at Alexandra Palace in October. How scary is that? I also want to try and do the Country Living Christmas fair in November so I'll be applying for that next month.

I'll be selling some ready made bits, as well as lots of patterns and kits. I need to have everything ready for Stitch 05 by Mid March so you can expect to see photos of it all here but I dont think I'll have the online ordering all in hand by then. As Brooke would say "too busy. can't. cope."

If anyone is coming to Stitch 05 please come by and say hello. It is primarily sewing / cross stitch and card making focussed but I've had some great trips there over the last few years. I also need some help on the stand on Thursday 30th March so if you think you can help me for a couple of hours send me an email and let me know. I can get you in for free in exchange for a bit of moral support and help on the day. I'm OK for Friday and the weekend, its just Thursday when I'm not going to be able to take a toilet break all day!

"Want to make" list...

I bought a copy of the new Colinette Akashya book recently and the designs in it are just gorgeous. They all use Giotto as the base with some of them adding in other yarns like their new Silky Chic.

My favourites are Asrai which is on page 3 of the online preview and Maeve in sweater form which is on page 9. If I was to make Asrai I'd have to lengthen it as I'm not really into cropped sweaters. I think Maeve is going to be first on the list.

giottoplansagain.jpg giottoplans.jpg

The book has a really romantic feel to it with lots of lacy clothes and floral accessories. In my opinion, some of the pictures are too small to be able to see what the garment looks like but on the whole I love it.

I've also been pouring through the new Rowan 37 book and deciding what to make from it. Strangely enough the one design I keep going back to time and time again is the Summer Tweed blanket / wrap by Kaffe Fasset. This is unusual because I usually don't like his designs and I definitely don't like Summer Tweed. Maybe one day if I collect enough odd balls of Aran weight yarn I may have a go at it. Apart from that Gemma, Elspeth and Hobo are the only ones I would consider. I have plenty of Calmer and 4 ply cotton in my stash that I could use but none of them are at the top of my list. Not that I really have a list or anything!

Book review

I've just finished reading My Sister's Keeper by Jodi Picoult. It was by far one of the best books I've ever read. I couldn't put it down. I kept trying to guess how it would end but nothing could have prepared me for what happened, I can't remember the last time a book made me cry so much.

The story is about a 13 year old girl who is suing her parents for the rights to her own body. Some of the moral questions raised in the book are heartbreaking, there were times that I didn't want to read any further because I knew that whatever happened next was going to be tragic. It was one of those books where I wanted to keep reading and also put it down at the same time. Enthralling.

I only just remembered that one of the earlier passages in the book seemed to make sense when I was reading it but all of a sudden it occured to me that I was wrong. Now that the book has ended I see what that was really about, how clever..

I'm still thinking about it now even though I finished the book last night. I think I'll take a break from reading for a few days so that I can remember this book for a little longer.

Car quilt

Totally inspired by this gorgeous quilt I decided to experiment with one of my own. I love the idea of a quilt that a boy can enjoy and wanted to try and make one for Mr Cameron. In typicall Kerrie fashion I didn't have a pattern or any idea about where to start so I just decided to go with the flow and see what happened. I had thought about trying to get hold of a book on quilting before I started but then couldn't resist just getting on with it!

Brooke and I spent a fun couple of hours rearranging 49 5 inch squares on the lounge floor to get the top of the quilt. I then took a piece of blue flowery cotton to use as the back and a piece of fleece fabric to use as the wadding. I sewed them all together wrong sides facing, turned them the right way out and stitched the last piece of seam.

Then I took the piece of felt that I bought last week and drew a road shape on it freehand with a piece of Brooke's chalk from her art box. I cut the road out, pinned it to the top of the quilt and hand stitched around both sides of the road. This was my version of quilting. My stitches weren't really small or neat enough but it was hard work getting the needle through all those layers, I used an ordinary sewing needle and blunted 2 of them!! I should really go and find out how to do this properly shouldn't I? I decided against binding the quilt as I would loose too much of the outside edge of the squares. Maybe I should have put a border on the top of the quilt? Next time..

Anyway, this is what I ended up with. Cameron seems to like it. Its only small but he has been sitting on it for the last half an hour playing with his toys. He's a bit too small for cars at the moment (You'll notice he's trying to eat one in the photos below!) but Brooke has had fun showing him how to drive them around the road. I think its a success!

Some stuff

The patchwork that I planned to finish at the weekend is taking longer than I thought. I'm hand quilting it which is not something I've done before and I'm finding it hard to get the needle through the 2 layers of cotton, 1 of felt and the wadding in the middle. I've resorted to doing a little at a time and I'm about 2/3 through I guess at the moment. Then I just need to decide what to use for the binding and hey presto. This is what it looks like at the moment though..

sewstuff.jpg

This is my current pile of knitted Calmer. I'm hoping to get that done next week some time. Only the front and finishing to go now..

knitstuff.jpg

MagKnits is nearly all set to go. I'll be uploading everything later this week so if you check back Monday morning you'll be able to see the yummy patterns we have this time. There are not quite as many of them but the quality is fantastic!

Finally, here is Mr 6 months old Cameron at his very best early yesterday morning. How can anyone resist that gummy smile?

Rowan Cotton rope

I bought 3 skeins of Rowan Cotton Rope the other day, 2 in a bright pink shade (Fruit Gum) and 1 in turquoise (Calypso). I can't show you what I made with them but here is a sneak peak at the fabric.

sneakpeakcottonrope.jpg

I can see this becoming one of my favourite yarns. Its a good weight, somewhere in between aran and chunky, and knits up into a beautiful soft bouncy fabric. Its 55% cotton 45% acrylic which is unusual for Rowan but makes the fabric softer and easier on the hands than 100% cotton. The yardage isn't great at 55 metres per 50g but the price is reasonable enough, I think I paid around £3.50 per skein.

I'll definitely use this again, the colors are lovely and bright. I'm thinking a cotton jacket for Mr C, if I ever get to the end of my current projects that is!

Tempting

Amy Butler fabric on ebay.

Alexander Henry fabric on ebay. I only just discovered his stuff yesterday. I love it! This is his website. I'd love to find a store in the UK that stocks his fabrics.

Cath Kidston fabric on ebay.

Don't you just love ebay??

Sneak peak

Want to see what I got up to Friday afternoon when Cameron was sleeping, Brooke was at playschool and Wayne was at work.

sewingcorner.jpg

Woo Hoo, I cut up that Amy Butler fabric and played. It was a lot of fun.. The red striped fabric that you can see at the bottom is the gorgeous Cath Kidston that I bought the other day.

My sewing table is also the kitchen table, this is a good thing as it makes sure I tidy everything up when I'm finished. I'm not a particularly neat person so if I had my own dedicated sewing table it would probably look like this all of the time instead of just for a couple of hours at a time. Here is a close up of all the lovely fabric, just in case you are interested..

So what else did I get up to? Well, Brooke helped me lay out these squares before she went to playschool. Unfortunately I didn't get them pieced together as planned so Wayne came home to find them in the middle of the lounge floor where they stayed until I had time to bring the machine out again after dinner. I should finish that project this weekend, if I get the time tomorrow..

Day Off

Wayne stayed home with the kids yesterday and I had a day off. What to do? I decided to get the train into London and wander around for the day - it was fantastic. I started off at Baker Street and walked past Madame Tussauds and the planetarium to Marylebone high street. I LOVE this part of London. Its full of little boutique type shops with all kinds of interesting things to look at. I visited the Cath Kidston store and tried very hard not to buy absolutely everything there. Her sale is still on and was very good, I ended up walking away with 2 metres of her clover cherry woven French ticking fabric to add to my "take it out and pet it" fabric collection.

Then a little further down Marylebone high street we have V V Rouleaux. Full of the most beautiful ribbons and braids and trimmings you've ever seen, its like Aladins cave. Very expensive though so just one to look at and dream about but an easy way to spend half an hour.

Back over to Liverpool street for gossipy lunch with a friend (pizza and cheesecake) and then over to the West End. I bought a little yarn from John Lewis, 3 skeins of the new Cotton Rope yarn, together with some velvet rick rack ribbon for a skirt for Brooke. Then I headed over to the Cloth House where I bought a metre of grey felt and 2 metres of pink and grey jersey. I only visited one of their stores, the other one has too much temptation.

I was looking for somewhere that I could buy bag handles and belt buckles. I knew I'd ordered online from somewhere called Kleins and wandering around the fabric district in SoHo I stumbled upon their store. I was very restrained and only bought a few little bits and pieces.

Finally I headed to Borders where I leafed through the magazines and craft books before walking out with 3 trashy novels and the latest issue of Country Living magazine.

I need to take photos of my shopping haul but the digital camera batteries are busy charging at the moment so that won't be today. It was a lovely relaxing day, my feet hurt by the time I got home but after 8 hours shopping that was to be expected!

Want to trade?

I've been having a good rummage through my stash (both fabric and yarn) this week and have come up with a few items that although gorgeous are not going to be put to any good use as far as I can see. If you want to offer a good home to any of them, just leave me a comment or send me an email (kerrie AT magknits DOT com) with details of what you want to offer in exchange. I'll wait until Saturday morning before deciding what to trade for and will send out the packages on Monday.

TRADEGYPSYCARAVAN.jpg

Amy Butler Gypsy Caravan fabric and 2 bamboo style bag handles. The Gypsy Caravan range is now discontinued and very hard to get hold of anywhere. This piece measures approx 45 inches by 48 inches.

TRADEFANDANGO.jpg

1 skein of Colinette Fandango. There is no shade listed on the ball band but it is a mixture of lovely muted purples.

TRADEDEBBIEBLISS.jpg

3 skeins plus oddments of Debbie Bliss Merino Chunky in a lovely pale pink.

Tea time treat

rowan37.jpg

Look what landed on my doorstep this morning about 5 minutes after I (incorrectly) told Wayne that the post doesn't arrive until about 3ish these days. I'm saving it for a tea time treat this afternoon while Brooke is at playschool. Tea, cake and the new Rowan mag. What could be nicer.

Obsessed, me? Never....

amybutlerfabricstash.jpg

I was sorting through some fabric yesterday and came across my bag of Amy Butler fabric that I take out and pet every now and again. I love it all and have big plans for it if I can ever bear to take the scissors to it and cut it up.

The flowery on the bottom and the stripes on the left are 1 metre each. Along the top we have fat quarters and the bottom row and right hand side are fat eigths. I do actually have more hidden around somewhere but it is all repeats of this.

Square eyes

For those of you who need a quick Alice update, the flamingos were used as croquet sticks (is that the right word?) in the queen of hearts garden. The cards bent over to become the croquet hoops and hedgehogs curled up to be balls. Its only a small part of the book but a fun one!

Wayne and I watched a lot of TV this weekend. Are we the only ones who are bitterly disappointed with the current series of ER? It used to be our favourite TV program but this series is barely watchable. We still sit through it each week but its getting worse and worse each week.

Lucky for us that Desperate Housewives is proving to be a good distraction. I love that show. Also good that Wayne got series 3 of ER on DVD for his birthday last week so we can work our way through that whilst moaning about the current series.

We also watched Collateral on Saturday night. (another birthday DVD) Does anyone else see the Richard Gere resemblance now that Tom has the dodgy grey hair? Also, Jamie Foxx - who painted on his hair? It looks like someone has just drawn on his head with a black pen. Very freaky. I couldn't stop looking at both of their heads all the way through the film! Apart from the whole hair thing I really enjoyed it. I was only half watching it as I was knitting Alison's MagKnits project at the same time. I couldn't resist casting on for it, 2 weeks today until MagKnits goes out so you dont have to wait that long to see it..

Beautiful Princess Flamingo

flamingodone.jpg

This is my entry for the LoobyLu February month of Softies. The theme was Alice in Wonderland revisited and as soon as I heard that I knew I just had to make a flamingo.

I used pale pink soft material for the body and knitted the beak and feet from some Rowan All Seasons Cotton. The eyes are googly ones with big eyelashes and her legs are made from plaited R2 braid yarn. Brooke thought she should have a necklace so we found a small amount of flower ribbon and used that. I bought some beautiful feathers from John Lewis to attach to her body to resemble wings. I had originally cut some out of the fabric to use but the feathers ended up looking more flamingoish to me.

Brooke chose her name, beautiful princess flamingo, and loves her. She has been playing with her all morning and just now came through to tell me that beautiful princess flamingo was sad because she hadn't got any family. "I told her that you and daddy and me and cameron were her family but she wants a flamingo mummy and daddy and baby to live with her as well" explained Brooke. I think that was her subtle way of saying that she wants me to make more!

I've been making a few toys recently, its a lot of fun. I'll have to take some piccies and show you them next week some time..

The Koigu shawl formerly known as Gypsy

msfshawlbrookie.jpg

This is shawl number 4 that I have made since buying the Gypsy pattern and each one gets further and further away from the original pattern but still not far enough to be called my own design. This one is knit using 3 skeins instead of 5, at a larger gauge, with beads on the bind off row instead of fringe, and with a totally different lace section at the end although the border lace is still the same.

Modelled by the lovely Brookie (we both had our PJs on and trust me, the photos of her were far cuter than any taken of me!) and also the sofa in the kids play room you can see the detail of the bottom edge of the shawl here. You'll have to trust me that the beads are there and that they look cute as my camera couldn't pick them up at all..

So shawl number 1 went to a friend of my grandmas, number 2 to my mother in law, number 3 to my mum and now number 4 is on its way to whichever lucky person's name is pulled out of the cyber hat over at Stephanie's. I realised early on in this shawl that the colours were not me and as I was wracking my brains trying to work out who I could give it to I was making my donation to MSF. It occured to me that it would make a good prize for someone else who had donated and Steph kindly agreed to wait for me to finish it and then pick a name. So the shawl formerly known as Gypsy is now all packaged up and ready to go to a new home.

The pink and green yarn I showed earlier in the week is Lorna's laces sock yarn from Knit Happens in the special Knit Happens colourway. It is so soft, I love it. I'm going to use this to make my next shawl, one that is going to be for a very special little girl who when trying on the MSF shawl sighed and said "I wish you would make a pretty princess shawl for me one day mummy, I'd love one" Who cares if it only gets worn for dressing up? Although I do have a plan to make a shawl / poncho type thing that she may actually wear outside. A shawl is not the most practical for a 4 year old. I'm writing up a basic pattern at the moment and will be casting on and playing with it soon enough.

Flamingo

The Month of Softies theme for this month is Alice in Wonderland and as I think I mentioned the other day, I'm making a flamingo. Jen and I went shopping yesterday and I bought some pale pink flamingo type fabric. I couldn't resist cutting out the body and wings last night.

flamingo.jpg

I'm going to make this out of fabric and yarn. I'm thinking knitted legs, feet and beak with the feathers attached to the wings and the fun fluttery eyelash eyes. I should have it finished in a few days as I'm too excited to wait..

Square bears and other useless information..

Thanks for all the comments on yesterday's post, I'm still feeling a little down about the whole thing but we're making progress so that's good. I honestly think Wayne and I have tried everything to get the young man to drink milk from somewhere other than his mother but you never know. He has refused milk from Wayne, my mum, Wayne's mum - even Brooke. (although he didn't scream when Brooke tried to feed him, they just ended up having fun together!) I keep reminding myself that it is just a phase and that it will pass. Plus he is so funny as he drags himself around the floor on his stomach that I can't help but laugh at him. I try and remember that while the screaming is going on..

So apart from the hysteria and screaming what else is going on around here? Well, we have squares. Here are mitre squares number 1. These are made from Rowan Big wool and gave me an idea for a baby blanket. Stay tuned...

grey.jpg

Mitre squares number 2. These are made from Rowan All Seasons Cotton and yes, for anyone who knows what they are for without me having to say it out loud I DIDN'T READ THE INSTRUCTIONS. OK? I have no excuse apart from blaming hormones and motherly distractions but I've been assured that they are OK. Even though they are blatently WRONG.

pinkandorange.jpg

What else? Have you seen the LoobyLu Month of Softies gallery? There are some gorgeous cats there. The theme for Feb is Alice in Wonderland, I've decided that I'm going to make a pink flamingo. There is a story behind that which I may tell you if I run out of other things to talk about over the next few weeks. I can't wait to see all the Cheshire cats, white rabbits and other creativeness that people come up with..

Oh yes, and the Agnes questions - I used colour 53 I think which strangely enough I bought from Jaimi last year. It made me laugh that she was the one to ask which colour, hee hee hee. (see, I am crazy!) As for what is next, I'm not sure. I'm thinking of making Alison's MagKnits project as it is going to be just gorgeous and I have plenty of Calmer laying around. Or maybe something in denim. Who knows? But that is part of the fun, right?

One of those days turning into one of those weeks...

Monday looked like it was going to be "one of those days". Now its Thursday and I've just realised that one of those days has turned into one of those weeks. Its strange, some days I feel as though Brooke and I are best friends, we have loads of fun and the day just flys by in a whirl of colouring, reading, computer time and playing with Cameron. Those are the days that I love being at home with the 2 of them and wish that I didn't have to go back to work. On those days, Cameron falls asleep when he is tired and laughs the rest of the day away. Brooke doesn't sulk, or complain about anything and I feel like the best mum in the world.

Then we have weeks like this one. Where Cameron refuses to sleep and just gets more and more tired, crying and rubbing his eyes. Where Brooke realised that I'm paying attention to Cameron to try and get him to sleep and starts messing about to get some of the attention back on her. Where I end up feeling like tearing out my hair and staring at the clock waiting for Wayne to walk in from work. Its not pretty.

I made a decision on Monday which has led to much of the madness and hysteria this week. Mr C is still point blank refusing to drink milk from anywhere other than me. We've tried bottles with as many different teats as we can buy. We've tried different types of cup, different types of milk but no. He will drink water from a cup but not milk. If his milk doesn't come directly from my boobs then he doesn't want to know. This is all very well but in a few weeks time he is going to start settling in at nursery in preparation for me to go back to work. Something has to give..

Now, the negotiations for my working week are going to be interesting enough as I make sure I have enough flexibility to be able to pick Brooke up from school as much as possible and ensure that I'm not working late every night. In the city its kind of expected that a 9-5 day actually means 9 - 7ish and I'm not going to do that. If I have to suggest to my boss that I come in for 9, leave at 9.15 to get back home in time for Cameron's 10am feed and then get back to the office about 11.15 before leaving again at 1.15 for his 2pm feed, back again at 3.15 and then leave at 5 I really don't think she'll go for it. Do you?

We've been trying to get him onto a bottle since about last November. I'm not ready to totally stop breastfeeding but just for one or two feeds a day. We've tried everything. He has proved to be far more persistant than Wayne and I and so far he has won every battle. On Monday I reached the point where I think he eats so much solid food (breakfast, lunch and pudding, snack mid afternoon and then dinner and pudding) that I think he can go without milk during the day if he won't take it from a bottle or cup.

There. That was a fairly easy decision to make but it has led to a difficult week. Monday was surprisingly easy - probably because we were out and about for most of the day and he seemed to eat and sleep well but still didn't drink from the bottle. Tuesday however...... he cried for an hour and a half in the morning when he realised he wasn't getting any boobs and 2 hours in the afternoon for the same reason. He didn't sleep a wink. I cried with him for one of those hours in the afternoon and trust me, I could have slept at any point! Nightmare day. Poor Brooke was watching a DVD downstairs in the afternoon and kept creeping upstairs saying "oh no, they are both crying!"

Yesterday, slightly better. Morning milk time went like this : Sit on my bed with Cameron all relaxed and happy but looking like he wanted milk. Offer him a cup of milk. He chews the lid but won't suck. Swap to bottle number 1. Again, he plays with it but won't suck. He begins to get stressed out. Swap to bottle number 2 with a different teat. Total breakdown from Cameron as he pulls my hand into his mouth and starts sucking my wrist. Bottle is replaced in his mouth and he refuses to suck. In the end he cried for about 10 minutes before falling asleep and missing out on the milk completely.

At afternoon milk time he actually drank 3 ounces from a bottle (woo hoo) before spitting it out and crying so we are making progress. Its just so hard to see him upset and know that all I have to do is pick him up and feed him myself to make him happy. Its bad enough not being able to help your baby when you dont know why they are crying but to have to try and comfort them while you know you could make them happy in about 2 minutes makes me feel really horrible. But we've come this far and its getting better each day so I can't go back now.

He has seemed to enjoy his morning and night feeds more this week so that's good. I'm not ready to give those up yet, they can stay until his teeth start to come through. I've found it easier to feed him than I did Brooke and I know that if we don't have any children then stopping the feeds altogether is the end of an era. I think that's why I'm holding on to the first and last feeds of the day.

So - that was a long rambling way to say that I'm way behind in everything that I wanted to do this week. I have patterns that I should have written up and submitted for publication at the beginning of the week still languishing in my TO BE DONE pile and a million other things that keep looking at me... But while Mr C is going cold turkey from the daytime boobs its going to be chaos for a little longer around here.. Lets hope I can stick it out!

Agnes

agnes.jpg

Agnes is finished and ready to be worn! (The more observant amongst you will notice that there was a safety pin in place of the hook and eye in the photo above. This has now been removed and hook and eye attached.)

I really enjoyed making this, it was worth the pain to get the stripes to match up although next time I work with Kureyon I won't bother. I love the way the fronts are pretty much the same and the arms are also identical to within half a row or so here and there. I now have lots of half skeins of Kureyon dotted around which I think I'll use for a few felted bags.

I made the arms about 3 inches longer than the pattern called for to fit my monkey arms and I'm so glad that I did. I had thought that they would be too long but they fit just right. I think I'll be making this cardigan again out of Rowan All Seasons Cotton, the gauge is perfect and I think it would be gorgeous in plain black.

All in all Agnes is a success. My first proper knitting with Noro yarn and I really like it. The rest of the family aren't so sure though. I know stripes aren't Wayne's thing so I haven't actually asked him but he did say "well done for finishing that cardigan" Brooke on the other hand was more blunt. When I tried it on and showed it to her I said "Do you like it" and she replied "Well, actually no I dont. I think its a bit funny with all those stripes" Such honesty from a 4 year old!

Just in case you were wondering Cameron was sitting on the floor to my right when I was trying to take this photo. I didn't want you to think it was some kind of new pose or anything!

Mememusic

I'm not sure Leigh knows what she is letting herself into here but never one to let people down I'll play along now that she has tagged me. I also got an email from Johanna so now that my online friends are really ganging up on me there is no excuse but to get on with it.

1. Total amount of music files on your computer?

None. Now if you had asked Wayne he would have thousands but me, I'm not really into music that much. My laptop is full of pictures, not sounds!

2. The last CD you bought was:

For myself I bought Joss Stone, The Soul Sessions

3. What is the song you last listened to before reading this message?

Blue, Fly By II. From this album.

4. Write down 5 songs you often listen to or that mean a lot to you:

How did you get here by Deborah Cox. I love this song, not sure where I first heard it but I think it is beautiful. I have it on CD in my car and Brooke has learned all the words so whenever it comes on we have it turned up loud and both sing along. Cameron thinks we are crazy!

Sweet Child of Mine by Guns and Roses. Bet you weren't expecting that one right? Guns and Roses were the first band I ever saw in concert back in 92 at Wembley. This is not one to sing in the car with Brooke but is my fave song of theirs.

Spend a lifetime by Jamiroquai. This is the song that Wayne and I chose for our first dance when we got married. It's beautiful. I love it. It has gorgeous lyrics and just reminds me of the perfect day we had.

I can't remember the name of this one by Jennifer Lopez / J Lo / Whoever she was when she released this and LL Cool J. Its the one that goes "pride is what you had baby girl, I'm what you have..." etc etc. Its odd that I cant remember the name of one of my favourite tunes isn't it even though I can sing all the words. I love the video to this one where she has left him and is walking along the street with all of her bags and her friends come up and meet her and help her carry them. Its a great girl power type sentiment and I love it.

You Oughta know, Alanis Morissette. This song reminds me of being young free and single in the months before I met Wayne. It reminds me of one of the best and worst years of my life from splitting up with a crappy boyfriend to going out drinking every night after work, partying all the time and having years worth of fun packed into just a few months. Oh yes, this is my relive my youth song.

5. What 3 people are you going to pass this baton to and why?

I don't know. What about Froggy, Jen and Mary?
