Woolfest, the stash

OK, so the big purchase of the day was the spinning wheel. It is still safely in its box in the wool cupboard and will hopefully be allowed out to play at the weekend if I dont get time before. I tentatively mentioned to Wayne somewhere around Birmingham on the way up on Friday night that I was thinking about maybe getting a wheel. By that time it was too late to turn around!

I got to try some out and decided that I liked the Ashford Joy. Its small and portable and would fold down to fit nicely into the wool cupboard which was another benefit as far as Wayne was concerned. I then chatted to the man at the twistfibre stall which as Heather (who by the way Cameron fell totally in love with, he was flirting with her, stroking her hand and making little coo-ing noises!) said was one of the best stalls there and negotiated a good price with him. However, I had decided not to buy it as I didn't think it would fit into the car and had resigned myself to ordering it when I got home and retail price plus postage. :(

Then I got chatting to Polly. Who reminded me that her and hubby were driving back down to London with plenty of room in their car. We negotiated whether they would take the wheel or a child and I eventually decided that she really didn't mind being my courier service back to London and that I'd go for it. Bless Wayne though, after I paid for it he convinced me that it would fit in the car and with a bit of squashing, it did. Woo Hoo!

So, the other stash :

woolfest3.jpg

400g of Merino fibre in various colours. Brooke chose the pink and the peach, I'm in love with the chocolate brown / pale blue blend in the corner. I think this was from Wingham WoolWorks.

woolfest5.jpg

A whole pile of threads from Creative threads. Booke chose her own packet which I'll show you later, I'm going to spin mine into some yarn to add a bit of interest and fun. I'll also be making some pom-poms and fringes for various things..

woolfest1.jpg

A cone of fine fine turqouise yarn and some balls of pretty pinks. Again, these are going to be added into some handspun.

woolfest4.jpg

Finally, Brooke's stash. Her own drop spindle, 100g of mixed colour fibre and her creative threads pack. Bless her, she has her own stash!! Yay for Brooke.

So you see, until I handed over the money for the wheel I was congratulating myself on being so sensible. Not any more. I justified the purchase on the grounds that I have now spent my first paycheck from Simply Knitting magazine. They comissioned me to design a number of things for them, the first one of which is going to be in issue 5 which goes on sale 21st July. I can't wait to see how it looks! Its a design that you've seen photos of here so I hope you all go out and buy the magazine and knit it! So anyway, it works out that I spent my first designer paycheck on all my purchases at the weekend, it can't be bad.

WoolFest, reviewed

What a busy weekend! We drove over 700 miles in just over 24 hours which seems like madness now but was so worth it at the time. WoolFest was held in Cockermouth in the lake district, exactly 308 miles north of where we live so it was always going to be a bit of a trek. We decided to leave on Friday evening when the children would normally go to bed so that they could sleep and we could miss the trafic. We left home at about 7.15 and with one stop on the M6 somewhere we arrived at our Travelodge hotel at 11.30. It was a little further North than I had realised, the receptionist pointed out that we were about a 15 minute drive from Scotland!

Saturday morning we couldn't resist it, neither Wayne nor I had ever been to Scotland before so we took a mini road trip to Gretna Green! We didn't actually get out of the car but at least we can say now that we've been to Scotland...

We arrived at Woolfest at around 10.30 and within minutes of walking in the door had bumped into Polly. Brooke had a great time stroking the sheep, alpacas and holding the angora rabbits. We had front row space for the angora rabbit clipping which Brooke was fascinated by. She was also fascinated by all the spinning wheels and actually got a quick lesson from one stall!

brookespinningwheel.jpg

She also had lessons in weaving, basket making and various other activities that were going on. As the day wore on she kept asking over and over again to learn to spin so I bought her a drop spindle kit and we sat outside on the grass and I taught her how to start. She loved it and was proudly showing Polly her spindle later on in the day. My photos of that didn't come out but Polly has a couple that are good...

woolfestkids copy.jpg

Brooke, Wayne and Cameron spent a little time sitting on the green hill at the back of the car park while I wandered, gossiped and spent too much money. The weather was gorgeous and the whole day was great, lots of sheep, raw fleece, fibre and yarn. There were stalls and stalls full of bulky handpainted yarns but I managed to resist most of them. It was so nice just to be somewhere new, seeing lots of familiar faces and new ones. At one point Polly and I were standing chatting while Wayne slept on the grass outside and this voice suddenly said "you must be Kerrie, I recognise your children" It was Heather who as it turned out also knew Polly so we stood having a good gossip for a while. I also met Jill Hudson and India for the first time (Hi everyone!) and as we all stood there chatting, Emma, Allan and Oliver walked in. We couldn't have planned it any better than that. It was lovely to see everyone and even nicer to see what they had all bought and hear about what they were going to buy. We knitbloggers sure can shop!

Wayne and I left around 3.30 and took a long relaxing drive home through the lake district. We saw some of the most beautiful scenery which made up for the fact that it took about 4 times as long as the motorway, it was so worth it though. With the kids asleep in the back we headed back down the motorway and stopped off with mum and dad overnight before finally arriving home yesterday evening. We were all tired but it was totally worth it, I had a FANTASTIC weekend.

What did I buy? I'll show you all the photos tomorrow, I dont have time to pull them all off now. I'll just share one with you and tell you that I blame Polly for enabling me on this one...

Strawberry picking

strawberriesbrooke.jpg

Just to prove that we are proper country folk now that we have moved out of London, I took the children strawberry picking the other evening after school. Brooke LOVED it. Cameron wasn't too sure as I wouldn't let him tug the leaves of the strawberry plants in case he pulled them down on his head but I think he had fun. He kept trying to put his hand in the punnet and pick out strawberries, see?

We ended up with over a a kilogram of strawberries so now we are going to be eating them for the next couple of days. I'm thinking about making jam with some, what do you think? Is that too domestic goddess like or an interesting experiment? I'm not sure...

Thanks for all the comments on the yarn!! I am trying to get a proper shop set up here so that I can have all my patterns / kits and other stuff in one place. I may get that done next week if I'm lucky. This weekend is reserved for WoolFest, we're travelling up North late tonight - its going to be about a 5 hour drive so wish us luck. Anyone who is going to be there tomorrow look out for us and say hello if you see us!

Yarn

allyarns.jpg

Its official, I love spinning. I've made these 4 skeins of yarn over the last few days, each one takes about an hour or so on my drop spindle and I'm really beginning to feel like I'm getting the hang of it. I'm getting about 50 metres per skein out of the roving that I bought and now I've just about run out. I think I need to do a big shop at the weekend at Woolfest. Although 50 metres is about enough to make a child's scarf with 12mm needles, I'd like to be able to get about 80 metres per skein, that's enough for an adult scarf, hat or something...

These are all novelty, super bulky yarns. You'll notice pom-poms, other yarn scraps, cotton thread, ribbon and sequins in most of them. Inspired by PluckyFluff and Heidi's gorgeous yarns I'm really excited that I'm making my own!!

I'm hoping to make loads and loads of the bigger skeins to take to sell at Ally Pally. What do you think, would you buy them if you saw them? I'm also pretty excited about developing some patterns for the yarn, so that I can offer them for sale at the same time. I've got so many ideas bubbling at the moment!

If you go down to the woods today

camwoodssleep.jpg

Brooke, Cameron and I went to the forest last night. Partly because Brooke wanted to and partly because Cameron was moaning so much that I thought a trip out in the car might send him to sleep and give us all some peace and quiet for a while. He's been really unsettled for the last few days, I'm not sure if its the heat, new teeth coming through or something else. He is driving us all slowly mad though with his clinginess, refusal to sleep or eat. Its just a phase. Its just a phase. Keep repeating that over and over again and I think we'll survive it!!

Well, it worked. He fell asleep just as we arrived and stayed asleep while we laid him down on his blanket. That left Brooke and I to climb trees (her), knit (me), wind skeins into balls (both of us), pick flowers (both of us) and tell stories (both of us) Cam slept for the whole hour that we were there and it was all good fun apart from one scary moment when the cows came RUNNING past us. The herd in the forest must have about 40 cows and they run pretty fast. We must have been camped in their regular path because they went either side of us about 10 foot away. I was a little nervous as Brooke was hiding behind me scared and Cameron was asleep on the floor at my feet. I was trying to work out how I could protect both kids if any of the cows came right at us but before I could work it out they were gone. We enjoyed watching the slower cows at the back, these were the ones with new babies one of which was born yesterday morning. It was so so cute and tiny, not scary at all according to Brooke.. We're lucky to have the forest less than a mile from us, its a great place to spend summer evenings..

Elspeth

elspethsleeves.jpg

Curly wurly wiggly pinkness..

This was one of my favourite patterns in the new Rowan mag when it first came out. I had lots of Calmer in black but at around the same time I decided to make Alison's Nothin but a T shirt instead, remember? Elspeth was pushed to the back of my mind until I saw (and tried on) Jen's version at the weekend.

I bought some of the exact same colour as Jen (and the model in the book) and cast on for it Sunday morning. By Sunday lunchtime I had finisehd the first sleeve and last night I finished the last few rows on the 2nd sleeve. I'm making the 36 size and seem to be on track gaugewise although I didn't swatch for it. The sleeves weigh 20g each and I'm guessing that the 2 front pieces will be slightly more. So I have 3 skeins in the same dyelot and I'm hoping I can get the back out of one and the rest out of the other 2. I do have a little more in a slightly different dyelot so I'll make that work if I need to.

One other thing that was putting me off Elspeth was that crochet picot edging. You all know that I don't do crochet so I've decided to work my favourite picot edging all around her instead. I cast on with an eyelet picot and will pick up the stitches around the front and work the same to finish off. So, the plan is that I'd like this to be just about done by the weekend. I'm aiming to have the back finished by Thursday and then work on the front pieces in the car on the way to Woolfest at the weekend. Woo Hoo!

Silk Shrug

silkshrugfront.jpg

This was a really fun knit. Inspired by Stef's one skein wonder and the Interweave staff shrugs I decided that I wanted to make something small and silky to wear about my shoulders. I started it on Thursday night and finished it Saturday night, that's how quick and easy it was to make. I'm all about picot edges to things at the moment, have you noticed? (More picot coming tomorrow!)

Here's a shot of the back and the side. Please forgive the hairstyle, do you know how hot it was here at the weekend? Who needs long hair on your neck when you can borrow a scrunchie from your daughter and keep it out of the way in a very 80s on the top of your head style!

I bought the yarn from Trudi at HipKnits and I love the way the colours came out. It was fun watching the colours move about the piece and for a long while I had this funky argyle thing going on with the pink and purple crossing over from one side of the piece to the other. I love varigated yarns, they are such fun to knit with and you never know what is going to happen next. Jen will tell you that Wayne was not excited enough about it when he came in from work bearing chips for us at nearly midnight and I excitedly showed him the shapes the colours were making. Its a good job I had Jen there to share the fun with don't you think?

Thanks for all the birthday wishes, it was the best weekend. I got lots of gorgeous presents and have lots to tell you about this week. I should have photos of 2 finished Elspeth sleeves tomorrow if all goes well..

Birthday weekend

Its been a great birthday weekend so far, Jen stayed over on Friday night and we gossiped and knitted the night away. I took some photos of her in Elspeth so look out for those soon on her site. I was so inspired by Elspeth that I bought Calmer in exactly the same colour to make one with myself, talk about a copycat!

We had a BBQ yesterday afternoon / evening which was great. Lots of good food, good company and a few bottles of wine. The weather was GORGEOUS and still is today. We've spent this morning clearing up the debris resulting from having 20 adults and a handful of children in our garden for the better part of yesterday and now we are about to go to the forest for a picnic lunch.. Perfect.

I treated myself to one of LoobyLus prints as a birthday present, I cannot wait until it gets here. I am so lucky to have been able to buy one, I was sure they would all have sold out by the time I got there but woo hoo, I got one!!

Knitting wise, I'm finished with the HipKnits silk piece. I took photos this morning so I should be able to show you that tomorrow. Lets just hope the summer weather is here to stay for a few more days.

Silk yarn

silkyarn.jpg

I bought a couple of skeins of silk yarn from Trudi at HipKnits this week, in the Brighton colourway. It arrived yesterday and is so gorgeous that I couldn't resist winding it up into a ball (with the help of Brooke of course) and then making a start. I'm using 6mm needles which is giving me a lovely soft drapey fabric. I only knitted for around an hour last night on and off and already have a few inches completed, I'm hoping to have something to wear to WoolFest next weekend.

Today is for working, shopping with Jen and then coming home and cooking for the birthday BBQ tomorrow. It will be nice to have some knitting company while I'm cooking, Jen will be gossiping and knitting with me and maybe even learning to spin! Not that I'm in any position to teach her but I can show her how I do it at least!

Simple Scarf

Its been a long week. The combination of a sinus headache that just won't go away, not enough sleep and too much stress at work that I am trying (but not totally suceeding) to bring home with me has left me exhausted. Wayne is in exactly the same situation so we're wandering around the house like zombies at the moment, waiting desperately for the weeekend.

Not much crafting has gone on due to the fact that by the time the kids are in bed in the evenings, I'm not far behind them! I did take the time last night to make a simple simple garter stitch scarf out of some of Heidi's beautiful yarn. I have bought 2 skeins from her now, the other one turned into a stocking stitch snake scarf for Mr C which I really must show you and this one is for Brooke.

penguinscarf.jpg

Now when I said it was simple, I meant it. First I cut off 8 lengths of yarn to make the fringe, then I cast on 8 stitches with 10mm needles and worked in garter stith until I ran out of yarn. Add the fringe and voila - a funky chunky scarf. Its too warm here to even think about putting a chunky wool scarf around Brooke's neck so the penguin stepped up. I love some of the shimmery shiny bits that are spun into the scarf, it looks good enough to eat don't you think? That is all totally to do with Heidi's gorgeous spinning and nothing to do with my boring garter stitch!

Plying

I've still been spinning every now and again, practising drafting the fibre and trying to make thinner yarn. I like to knit with chunky yarn and that seems to be all I'm making at the moment. I decided that I needed to make some finer yarn if I was ever going to get to try my hand at plying. I finally succeeded in making some nice DK ish weight yarn and then decided to try my hand at plying.

plyyarn.jpg

This is what we have. Some pieces are thicker than others and its a little too twisted in parts but on the whole I really like it. I've ordered some more fibre from ebay and I'm hoping to try out some spinning wheels at WoolFest in a couple of weeks so I'm pretty excited about that. For now though, I'm having enough fun playing with my drop spindle and learning more about the process.

I bought the Plucky Fluff spinning book last week, the photos in it are just amazing. Some of the techniques look really difficult and I need to know a lot more about spinning before I try them but the results are fabulous. I cannot wait to be able to create beautiful yarns like the ones shown!

Brooke has been a real mummy's girl recently. Wayne and Cameron went out to B&Q at the weekend and she decided to stay at home with me. As soon as they'd left she said "come on mummy, lets go and do some fun stuff" I thought she wanted to play with toys or maybe a game or something but no, she wanted to do something that mummy thought was fun. Its funny how she sees me, she got a quilt from downstairs, bought it up to the lounge and told me to sit on the sofa. She covered me up, passed me my knitting bag and got her magazine. She then got in the other end of the quilt on the sofa, passed me the remote control and told me to "snuggle down, knit and watch my baby programs on TV while she read her magazine" How cute is that? I flicked through the channels and pretended that the baby programs weren't on (I couldn't really watch them with her, they are a bit to realistic shall we say?!) I tried to put cartoons on for her instead but she insisted on watching something that I wanted to. She took charge of the remote control and found a cooking channel that I could watch because she didn't think they had programs about knitting! A little while later she showed me a picture of the moon in her magazine and told me that she thought I would like to go to the moon because it was really peaceful and quiet there. Bless her...

Then last night, Cameron went to bed really early and while Wayne was upstairs settling him down Brooke came and sat on my knee. She looked at me and said "mummy, the other day I heard you telling someone that you knew how to make wool out of fluff with some kind of twisting thing. I was wondering, can you teach me how to do that?" We didn't have time last night but trust me, how can I resist a request like that? Especially when she heard that Froggy's little girl was learning to spin!

Bicester Village

Wayne, Jenna, the kids and I took a trip to Bicester Village (pronounced Bister) at the weekend for a little pre birthday shopping. I didn't do quite as well as I'd have liked on the clothes front (bought nothing for me!) but we got some cute stuff for the kids, Wayne got some gorgeous trousers and I think Jenna bought just about everything else that was there!!

The saving grace for me was the discount Cath Kidston store where Wayne bought me this material for my birthday.

bicestercathkidston.jpg

Isn't it gorgeous? I got 1 metre of the blue and green and 1/2 metre of the strawberries. I have no idea what to make with it but I can't wait to play. I gave it all to Wayne to wrap up for me so that I wouldn't be tempted to start anything before my birthday (next Saturday)

SP - Kids Edition is going well! Thanks for all the comments and emails, we have over 20 kids signed up so far. I'll keep you posted through the week and let you know before I decide to cap it, think there's room for lots more children yet.. If you do want to join please email me at my magknits address at the bottom of the page..

Secret Pal - Kids edition

I've received a few parcels this week, (2 lots of yarn fom Trudi, designer trade pack from Colinette, various other fun bits) and the parcel ritual in our house goes something like this.

1. The parcel makes it into the house, one way or the other. Either shoved through the door by the postman, left in the back garden if we're not there or handed to us through the door if we are there.
2. Brooke then jumps up and down, gets really excited and asks to see who's name is on the parcel. She is always disappointed when it is not for her and insists on helping to open it no matter who it is for.
3. Brooke then unpacks the parcel, oohing and aahing over the contents (even if they are just yarn, bless her!) and then sneaks off with whichever pieces she likes the look of.

This has got me to thinking, wouldn't it be lovely if Brooke could get parcels through the post every now and again. How excited she would be. One thought leads to another and here I am, about to launch a Secret Pal, kids edition. Here's the plans :

- Signup will be from now until the end of June.
- Kids will be teamed together in the first couple of weeks of July, the swap will go from mid July to end of October.
- Any children are welcome to join in regardless of age, sex and where they live.
- Parents / guardians / responsible adult must agree the rules on behalf of the children.
- I reserve the right to stop signup if I feel that the number of people becomes too high. I know that the current SP5 is over 600 people!
- I need the following information to sign you (or your kid) up

a - Kid's name, age, boy or girl, postal address (this will only be provided to your secret pal)
b - Your name, relationship to kid, same postal address Y or N, blog (if applicable), any objection to sweets / candy being sent?
c - Prefer pal in same country, prefer pal of same sex?
d - Likes / dislikes

Rules. (shamlessly adapted from all the other Secret Pal swaps)

Location - Whereever you are you are welcome to join!

Blog - you do not have to have a blog to take part in Secret Pal - Kids edition.

Minimum contribution - $50 in US dollars over the course of three months. This can include the value of your time if you make something, and it can also include any postage costs. Establishing this amount should make it clear to all what a fair commitment should be, and no one should expect more, or less. $50 over three months is just $16.67 a month; if you feel this is too much or not enough, I'm sorry, this is not for you.

What to give? - Anything that you think a child would enjoy receiving. Bear in mind the likes / dislikes that you will have recieved in your pal match and take note of the adults comments on food / sweets etc. I suggest that fun things for children to receive would be stickers, small toys and books, colouring pencils etc, postcards, magnets etc..

Number or frequency of gifts, mailings, etc.: - This will be up to the individual. A suggestion is to send something at least once each month over the course of three months.

I'm sure there is stuff that I've forgotten. I'll be back over the weekend with updates if so!

Fabric Flowers

fabricflowers.jpg

Brooke decided that this would be the best way to photograph some of the fabric flowers I made from the Japanese Flower Accessory book. She tells me they look like the roses in Alice in Wonderland and burst into painting the roses red song for a while! The detail isn't great in the photo but they are the same ones as shown sewn to the skirt on the front of the book. These were easily my favourites in the book and were so easy and quick to make. I sat watching TV for an hour and made 6 of them (OK, without the leaves) with no effort.

I'm planning to make some much larger ones of these to have in our lounge. I'm not totally sure how to make stems for them or whether just to make the buds themselves and have them in a bowl, a bit of experimenting is needed I think.

I was in 2 minds whether to post this next picture but then I thought of the endless opportunities for blackmail when he is older and bringing girlfriends home and I thought, yeah - why not. This is Cameron last weekend at his cousins first birthday party. It was late in the evening, Wayne had popped out and Cam was beginning to get ready to go to bed. Unfortunately the bag with his PJs in it was in the car with Wayne, and Cameron couldn't stay up a minute longer. So I did what anyone would have done, and borrowed a pair of PJs from his cousin who is 2 months older than him. Unfortunately for Cam she only had pink jammies to lend so by the time Wayne got back he found Cameron on my lap, drinking milk and wearing girls clothes. I think he looked cute!

Fun fun fun stuff

Fun stuff number 1 - redoing patterns that you designed a long while ago to bring them up to date. Look out for a hooded version of Joseph available soon in Rowan Plaid which is a nice, modern available yarn.

Fun stuff number 2 - Sari silk yarn. I bought this from Trudi and love it. I have a few skeins so I'll be making up some kits with the simple designs that I'm working on now and offering them for sale soon.

Fun stuff number 3 - MagKnits and Spun Mag mystery collaberation contest. I am so excited about this one I can't tell you. Mary Margaret and I have been secretly plotting for a while. Details will be unveiled lated this week and the contest starts in our August issues. I. Cannot. Wait.

Fun stuff number 4 - Rowan Linen print. Its the first time that I've knitted with this yarn and I really do like it. Its a lovely texture, quick knit on 8mm needles and makes a beautiful light fabric. I should be finished with this one by the weekend. Can anyone guess what it is going to be?

Fun stuff number 5 - More Japanese craft books. I've made some of the flowers already, maybe I'll show those tomorrow if I can get a photo taken. The flowers book is definitely my favourite although I do love the palm sized creatures one and also the patchwork book. I'm so pleased that Hillary posted the link to all the ISBNs and to YesAsia.com a while back, thanks Hillary!

Martha Stewart Kids

Thanks for the offers, trade agreed!

I used to get this from Borders but they don't seem to carry it any more. I love the Martha Stewart magazines and although I've learned to live without the Living magazine I would love to get hold of the latest kids magazine. If anyone in the states wants to trade it for something, please email me and let me know. xx

Tie one on, its an apron thing.

Amy of Angry Chicken fame has recently started Tie One On, a monthly themed apron making project. The theme for June is Home on the range and as I was sorting through some fabric at the weekend I found some gorgeous shaker inspired fabric with appliqued animals and some horse shaped patches and decided to try my hand at an apron for Brooke.

frontjuneapron.jpg frontapronagain.jpg

This is what we ended up with. A reversible ankle length apron with horse patch pockets. I must show you photos of the other horse patches I have, Brooke chose her favourite 2 for her apron, the pig horse and the angel horse of course!

I used a pretty paisley for the other side of the apron and the tie and I really like the way it came out. I totally made it up and didn't measure the pieces properly which is why its a leeeetle lopsided but Brooke likes it and I like it and that's really all that matters.. Here's what it looks like from the back. I wonder what the theme will be next month?

Kids designs..

Small MagKnits announcement.
The November issue of MagKnits has turned in to a bit of a children's issue and I need a couple more cute patterns to fill it up. The deadline for completed designs is end of September but if you are thinking about submitting something please let me know what you are planning so that I can make sure it fits with the rest of the mag.

Next MagKnits announcement.
For those of you who don't subscribe to the newsletter, why not? You've just mised a pattern by Anna and an announcement from Kate. Because I had 10 hours sleep last night and I'm feeling kind and generous I'll point you towards the pattern.

Final MagKnits announcement.
We got a couple of mentions in the Simply Knitting magazine this month, one review of the website and one mention in the write up of Stitch 05. So that explains where the extra 200 people who signed up to Notifylist over the weekend came from!! Its nice to be noticed..

New hobby!

Do you think I need a new hobby? You know, something to fill those hours in the day when I sit on my hands, not knowing what to do. The times when I don't have any knitting / sewing / web work to do. When the kids are in bed and there is nothing to watch on TV and no books or magazines in the house to read. To fill those gaps, I've decided to learn to spin.

I bought a spin kit from Hello Yarn. It arrived yesterday and while Wayne was out collecting Brooke, Jenna and mum from Waterloo as they got back from EuroDisney I decided to play. I'm hooked! I only made about 20 foot of yarn but I love love love love love it. Excuse the pictures, I know they came out really fuzzy but I don't care. Its my yarn, my very own yarn that I made all by myself. Its allowed to be fuzzy.

The twist came out fairly even, I made chunky yarn without intending to - that's just the way it came out. There are a few slubby thick and think pieces in the skein but not too many. Mostly it is all nice and even and soft. The colours are also gorgeous! I have a huge box of fibre left to play with so I need to get on with that sometime soon. Maybe just as soon as my next couple of knit comissions are out of the way next week I'll have more time. Until then, this is the little swatch that I made with 7mm needles. Again, sorry for the fuzz.
